Last Week with Charlotte

I've been feeling a little sad that this is my last week to spend with just Charlotte. School's out in two days, we'll have all summer and then she goes to 1st grade! Unbelievable. I've tried doing some fun things with her this week. We worked on a puzzle together that she got for her birthday. She did it mostly by herself, I only helped towards the end. She was very proud of her accomplishment. It is still sitting on the table for daddy to see when he gets home from his business trip (a day early, I might add)
Today I helped out at her kindergarten field day. I was in charge of the parachute station, and boy was it a work out! And hot too! I didn't get a chance to take any pics at my station, but all the kids wanted to race in the mini 500 again, so I got to see some of that.
Popsicles are always nice on a hot day. ;-)

The Big Birthday Bounce

For the first time, I decided to combine the girls birthday parties. Their birthdays are only two weeks apart. Brooke's was Mother's Day weekend and Charlotte's is Memorial Day Weekend. So we decided to do it the weekend in between: yesterday. They each invited a few friends and bounced to their hearts desire. I didn't get a lot of pictures taken, everybody was so busy and wouldn't stand still. Guess that means they were just having a great time.
So the pics are a little out of order, but you get the idea. ;-) Nathan wore himself out playing too. Somebody said he's my third kid. LOL. I don't know what happened with my camera, but my flash didn't go off when they blew their candles out on the cake. And I didn't get any pics of opening presents b/c there were too many kids huddled around. But they got lots of great stuff, that they haven't stopped playing with since!

T.G.I.F.

We had a fun Friday night. It was much needed after a couple crazy weeks. We went to the school carnival to see if we could dunk Charlotte's teacher or the principal in the dunk tank. They were dunked, but not by one of my kids.
Then we went to some friends house for a bonfire. They have a lot of land, so the kids had a great time exploring.
Our other friends had a couch to burn, so burn it did! The kids were in awe of the big fire. They made themselves comfortable to watch the show. LOL

Field Trip #2

I went on my second field trip in a week with Brooke on Monday. It was a bit trickier because I had to find someone to watch Charlotte and take her to school. But it all worked out so I could go. Brooke was pretty excited that I was coming. I'm glad that I could go and spend some time with her and some of her friends in her class. It was a walking tour of some of the monuments and memorials in downtown Indianapolis, lunch on the steps of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, and then a tour of the State Capital. We got a late start so the first part was more of a "hurry up and look and let's move on". The tour of the Capital was pretty interesting though, and I think Brooke even learned some things. :)

Busy Thursday

Yesterday was a busy day. I went on a field trip with Charlotte in the morning. We went to Cool Creek Park and Nature Center. It was a pretty fun place, but not a lot of time to explore. I think it will be fun to go back during the summer and take a litle more time to enjoy it.
After the field trip, we met Rachel and Adam at the park. They had come up to take Brooke to lunch and were waiting to see her in her 3rd grade performance in the afternoon. Charlotte and Adam had a fun time playing together for a little bit. We then went to the school and met the rest of my family there. Brooke was doing a great job until towards the end of the performance. I noticed her teacher pull her off the risers and take her behind the stage. I wasn't sure what was going on, so I thought I better go see if I could find her. Apparently, she had gotten very hot under the bright lights (we were hot just sitting in the audience) and had blacked out. She didn't actually pass out, but she was close. Apparently she had leaned on a couple of kids around her. She laid down in the nurse's office for a little bit and then we went home. We had planned on having a birthday party for her with those that had come to her performance. She was pretty excited for her presents, a couple more "I Can Be Barbies", a necklace, and some money.
She didn't seem to have a lot of energy to blow out her candles, and then she didn't even want any cake!! Whose child is this?!
She was a little nervous to go to the evening performance, but she did it. Aunt Rachel even braided her hair extra tight to keep her a little cooler. Isn't it cute??
I have a couple videos of her performance but I can't seem to load them to blogger. I guess I'll just put them on facebook.
Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!
