Children's Museum and Haunted House

We took a quick trip to the Children's Museum during Fall Break.  We didn't see a lot, because it was pretty crowded!  We had a whole crew with us because my Aunt Saundra and Uncle Richard were visiting from Utah.  My mom, dad, Lauren, and Nathan came along too.

 Hula hoop rockstars.

Waiting in a long line for the Haunted House.
We met a new friend in line.  This little 6 year old boy was the cutest.  I can't remember his name and even if I did I would probably butcher the spelling.
I won free tickets to the Haunted House so I was pretty excited about taking my kids.  They had a lights on time and a lights off time. I really thought my kids could handle the lights off so that is when we went.  Bad mistake!!  My kids were scared to death and will probably never go to another haunted house again.  Oh well.  Learning experiences.  (Our friend was pretty scared too)

Conner Scairie

We had a fun time at Conner Scairie (Prairie) during the Headless Horseman event.  We were first in line at the gate to get the earliest ticket time possible so we could have a daylight ride.  Some people in our family were too spooked to go when it was dark.  I think that person decided it would be ok to go back when it's dark, so we may be making another trip!

We played lots of fun games and took our picture with most of the Mayoral Candidates.

4 F's

 1.  Football!  It's over.  Charlotte's team lost in the playoffs, but  Brooke's lost in the Super Bowl.  They both had a fabulous time cheering, but we are glad to have our Saturday's back.
 2. Field Trip!  I chaperoned a 2nd grade field trip with my favorite second grader.  We took a train ride through Cicero, and then toured some of our community hot spots.  The library, fire station, police station, post office.  It was pretty fun!

Not a great picture, but the train goes over the lake.  I think that's pretty cool.
 3.  Flapjack!  Brooke is pet sitting her class turtle for Fall Break.  His name is Flapjack and he's a cute little thing.  We are having so much fun playing with him and watching him.

 4.  Food!  We made a dutch oven dinner in our garden.  And when I say we, I really mean Nathan.  Ha!  It was his idea.  We had dessert too.  An apple crisp.  Yum!
Of course, if we're eating outside it means we will have neighborhood friends over to help us eat.  :-)

Youth Football Night

Last night at our local high school, they had a youth football night for our current little league football teams and cheerleaders.  The players and cheerleaders were introduced to the crowd and then made a tunnel for the high school football team.  We stayed and watched the game until halftime.  Brought back memories of my own high school experience, where going to the game (for me) meant to socialize more than actually watch the game.  It's hard to believe in a few short years Brooke will be in that position.

Brooke and some of the girls on her team.

Charlotte and her friend Emma

Had to include this pic.  These are the star players on the team Brooke cheers for.  One of them she had a HUGE crush on last year, I won't say who ;-).

One of the reasons we left at half time...That score and we were ahead.

Cheerleading

Both of my girls decided to cheer for Little League Football this fall.  They are loving it!  Because of their age difference though, they are on separate teams, meaning we have to go to TWO different football games.  I never even thought I would have to go Little League football games in the first place....

Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!
