Young Authors

The girls school had an open house the other day showcasing some of their artwork and writings. Brooke spent many hours writing an autobiography. Her past, present, and future. The future was pretty entertaining.
Charlotte worked on an animal project. Hers is the poster about monkeys.
On the way home, we saw a rainbow...can you see it?

Easter Weekend

We started our weekend off by dying our Easter Eggs. I found an idea on pinterest to use kool aid packets instead of the dye...so glad I finally put an idea on there to use. Beware of the grape though...it turns gray, but the berry blue works REALLY well!

We then headed to our 3rd Easter Egg Hunt at a local driving range. The eggs were all spread out over this huge field, over 10,000 eggs! It was a hit, and the girls scored a ton more eggs and candy!

When we got home from that Easter Egg Hunt, we decided on another impromptu egg hunt with our friends. We had too many eggs and candy and wanted to share the love!

The Easter Bunny was nice this year and left some fun things. Brooke got a new game for her DS and Charlotte got new training wheels and an umbrella that she loves...plus a few more small things!

The girls picked out matching dresses at Costco several weeks earlier. Brooke gave a talk in primary about Jesus' resurrection and did a great job!

Spring Fling

We've had a lot of fun this week for Spring Break. Nathan was out of town most of the week so I had to keep the kids occupied by myself. I did ok, until Thursday night, and I had a meltdown after he got home. I locked myself in my room and went to bed early. I'm feeling much better today. :) Our week consisted of: bike riding, park playing, movie going, library visiting, Chick-fil-a-ing, ice cream eating, and Easter Egg hunting.

The coolest McDonald's ever...fun computer games and an air hockey table!

Brooke finally got a new bike...she was long overdue!

We had an Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch...just a few of the kids at Charlotte's table.

I realize I didn't get any pictures of Brooke hunting for eggs. She ran off with friends. But it was a fun time!

The Great Big Easter Egg Dash

Yesterday morning one of our favorite local parks hosted an Easter Egg Hunt, as well as a few other activities. Charlotte enjoyed a jump in the bounce house (apparently Brooke is too old for that now.)

They both loved getting air brushed tatoos (pretty cool, I thought, and much better than face painting).

We found some friends lined up for the hunt. It was actually divided into several groups, 0-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-10. We didn't want to split Brooke and Charlotte so we cheated and had Charlotte in the 7-10 age range too.

Brooke didn't call it a "hunt". She said it was a Easter Egg pick-up. It's hard to hide that many eggs. Luckily noone was trampled on.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner! Charlotte won a prize!

The line for a picture with the Easter Bunny was not long. Brooke was not interested.

It was a fun day! We're looking forward to some more fun Easter Egg Hunts this week. :)
Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!
