Another one bites the dust!

Brooke FINALLY lost her top tooth. It had been very loose for about a month. She let Melanie, our neighbor who's a dental hygienist pull it out. It seemed to hurt a little bit, but she still let her pull. Wow! She wouldn't ever let ME do anything like that to her. She said I had to take her picture because I've taken a picture of the other teeth that have come out.

We leave for Florida on Saturday!! We're so excited! We'll be dropping our kids off with my parents on Friday night and flying out on Saturday. We haven't flown in 10 years. So this will be a new experience. Anyone have any tips? Goodbye 20 degree weather, Hello 70 degrees! Woohoo!!

Cranhill Ranch

This past weekend we went to a ranch that was having a free open house for everyone in the community. This is their third year doing it and our second time going. They have all kinds of activities to do. They have tubing, ice climbing, snow shoeing, ice skating, broom ball, pony rides, cross country skiing, and more. The kids wanted to do the pony rides first. It sure is hard to pull a pony in 2 feet of snow! Nathan wanted to do the ice wall again this year. Unfortunately his safety goggles got frosty so he couldn't see where he was going. So he didn't make it up all the way. They had 3 tubing hills to choose from. All were too crowded and steep for me. I almost had a breakdown every time my kids went down. My kids went down all 3 hills.

Thankfully, there was a tractor that shuttled us around the ranch. Here are some of our friends waiting with us to go back to the car. It was COLD!!

They are having another open house in a couple weeks and we'd like to go back and try the cross country skiing. I never been skiing in my life, it's never too late to try, right?

In warmer news, Nathan and I are going to Florida next Saturday through Friday!! Nathan has an ASHRAE conference to attend that many of his classmates and professors are attending as well. I couldn't let him go by himself could I? Of course not. I'm not going to let him enjoy 70 degree weather when I'm stuck here with 20 degree weather. My parents are watching our kids for the week so we can have a nice getaway. It'll be like the honeymoon we never had. I'm so excited!!

The tooth fairy is coming....

but not to Brooke. Poor Charlotte had to have TWO teeth pulled today. It was a very sad day. If you remember this post back in August you will remember that she almost lost a couple teeth in a bike accident. Well, we've been watching her teeth and an abscess had begun to form, actually two on two different teeth. So we went to the dentist today and they decided that BOTH needed to be pulled. Charlotte did a great job sitting still and only cried a little bit. I had a hard time not crying myself seeing her in pain and having her lose two teeth. I'm trying to look at the bright side though. I'm just glad they are baby teeth and they will grow back soon...well a couple years anyway. She's still pretty darn cute, don't ya think? Here she is getting into bed with her array of bears/baby dolls. Her teeth are tucked safely under her pillow. :-)
Look at that smile!
Brooke, of course, wanted a picture taken of her in bed.

Happy New Year!

Here are some things we have been doing to start off our new year.

Brooke has a VERY loose tooth on top. She looks a little like Nanny McPhee.Brooke and Charlotte got these very beautiful dresses for Christmas from their aunts. So pretty, I almost don't want them to wear them at all.
And who is now officially a Sunbeam? Charlotte, that's who! She is so excited!
Charlotte has a tendency to fall asleep at any time in the car and also in the evening while watching t.v. This is New Year's Day around 7 p.m. after apparently not enough sleep after New Year's Eve. Unfortunately it turned out to just be a nap. Not good.

School for the girls starts back tomorrow! YAY!!
Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!
