When we moved to Michigan, many people would talk about "the bridge" that connects lower Michigan to the "U.P." The bridge to what? The Upper Peninsula, they would say. Apparently that was skipped in Geography class. Anyway, I've been wanting to drive there just to see this bridge and say that I've been to the "U.P." We took a quick overnight trip there and stayed in Mackinac City, which is pretty much a ghost town until May when all the shops and recreation opens up. Oh, you've heard of Mackinac Island right? The only way to get there is by boat (duh, it's an island) and no cars allowed on it. We thought it was closed down until May, but apparently for a hefty price we
could've taken a quick jaunt that way, but on the other side of the bridge in St. Ignace. But again, most places were closed and only a couple hotels open. So not really worth it.
The kids said this was the best vacation ever!! Why? We played, played, and played some more!!
The one thing that was open was an indoor
water park that we got into free through our hotel. The girls were a little nervous about going down the slides at first, as you can see.
Brooke got braver, and Charlotte did too, but would only go down this slide by herself.
Under all that water is Brooke.
More sliding at the park along the lake.
It was definitely a fun trip that the kids will always remember. It's all about the memories!

It looks like you guys had lots of fun! The girls are so cute and I just think it's great that you two are enjoying them so much!
Ouch Nathan!! That last slide looks painful! Probably not made for the taller ones in the fam! lol - Looks like you guys had a great time!
As I get older, I ouch more frequently. If you noticed, I cheated by leaving early on the slide.
You guys always do the FUNNEST things!
