Pumpkin patch take 2

After going to the pumpkin patch earlier in the week, and getting rained on picking out our pumpkins, we still needed to get some.  We were just going to head to the farmer's market and pick some out, but the kids really wanted the whole experience of taking a hayride.  So I found a place close by that  didn't have all the bells and whistles of all the other places, but it did have a free hayride to the pumpkin patch.  It was a little chilly, but the sun was out so it didn't feel so bad. 

I just love this time of year!  I just don't like what comes after...the snow and cold...

Halloween Party

 I couldn't get Batgirl and Hermoine to stay still for a minute to take their picture. 

We had lots of fun at a friend's Halloween party!  Kids playing and running around in the backyard, a "trunk or treat" w/o the trunk, and yummy food.  The girls had lots of fun playing with friends they don't get to see too often.

We recently had Fall Break.  Friday we had planned to go to Zoo Boo.  But it rained.  So we decided to go to the Children's Museum instead.  We were a little bummed since there wasn't another time to go to Zoo Boo, but we still had fun at the Museum, as always!  It was a little crowded, I think a lot of people had planned on going to the zoo as well, judging by the many kids in costumes.  But eventually cleared out a bit so it wasn't so crowded.

On Monday we went with some friends to a pumpkin patch.  It was beautiful weather, so we had on flip flops.  I should've known better.  The actual patch was muddy.  And then out of nowhere, it started raining.  We waited a bit for a tractor to come, but the crowd was filling up and we didn't want to fight for a seat.  So my friend and I decided to walk back...in the mud.  We ditched our pumpkins we had just picked out, much to my children's disappointment.  We slipped and sloshed all the way back to some shelter.  It was pretty comical.  We were a mess.  Remind me never to wear flip flops to the pumpkin patch again. :-)  Even if it is 80 degrees outside.

Fall Fun

Fun times were had at our Church fall party.  Hayrides, movies shown against the barn, hot chocolate, playing in the dark.  It doesn't get much better than that.

Changing of the Bikes

We've done a little changing of the bikes around here.  Charlotte was getting too big for her bike.  (We were kinda waiting for her to learn to ride w/o training wheels before getting a bigger one)  Brooke was going to be too big for hers in a couple years.  Many of her friends have adult sized bikes with the seat lowered all the way down.  So instead of buying two new bikes, we put Charlotte on Brooke's to see if she could ride it, and Brooke on mine.  Success!  Except now we need a new bike for me.  LOL  But that can wait. :-)


I went in to grab my camera because she was doing so good.  But Brooke had run her over and she had fallen down.  So she wasn't very happy.  But don't ya love the flip flops, gloves, and hat?!  It wasn't even that cold...not really warm enough for flip flops but definitely too warm for a hat and gloves.  But we love our flip flops.  And we had just gotten out our box of winter gloves and hats so I guess she was excited to wear them.
