Spring Concert

Brooke had her First grade Spring Concert last night. It was a show about The Little Red Hen. Several of her friends had speaking parts. She is in the second to top row, right in the middle, with a turquoise dress on. She got to stand next to her friend, Landen.

What were they talking about??
After the concert, modeling her new dress.
I have video as well, but I must warn you that it's not very good. Mostly it's the operator (Me). Charlotte was sitting next to me "trying to help" and I'm not so good at zooming in. But it's a cute song, and you'll get the idea. :-)

Good News and Bad News

Good news: we went to a baseball game in Grand Rapids last night.

Bad news: they lost, it was cold and rainy, and look at the calories on that 5/3 burger!
Good news: Yesterday on campus was Ferris Fest. We got to see things like this:Bad news: and things like this.
Good news: We went to a free children's "rock concert" this afternoon.

Bad news: I think I'm deaf now.

And the best news of all? Nathan accepted a job in Louisville, Kentucky with Honeywell!! The bad news is we still need to find a place to live!! But really, that's no so bad, right?

Grand Rapids Zoo

We had a fun time at the zoo yesterday. It was a little chilly, but at least the sun was out. I think our favorite animals were the chimps, they were putting on quite a show. This one in the top left corner smiled for us and liked to blow on the glass. They loved the petting zoo, one of which tried to grab some paper in my back pocket. Nathan said he's never seen me move so fast. The octopus was cool. I'm not sure I've ever seen one at a zoo before. Of course, they loved playing on all the toys with their friends.

Charlotte's song

This is one of the girl's favorite songs, I'm sure you can probably guess why. Charlotte's friends like to listen to it too if we're driving in the car. They get so excited every time Charlotte's name comes up. :-)

Spa Night

Last night, while all my Indy friends and family were at Time Out For Women, I was enjoying my own Time Out for Women with my friends in Michigan. Melinda invited us over for a Spa Night. Boy, was it wonderful!! And so relaxing! We had foot treatments, hand treatments, lip treatments, massages, facials, etc. You name it, we got it. It was great to be pampered! Thanks Melinda for having us!

Spring Break

Last week the girls and I went to Indy for Spring Break. Nathan was traveling to several job interviews and going to classes as well, so he wasn't really around much anyway. We had lots of fun playing with cousins, friends, watching movies, jumping on trampolines, getting pampered, and more. The only time I even got my camera out was at the Children's Museum. The girls had been to the Barbie exhibit when my parents watched them in January, but I had not. We also went to the Bob the Builder exhibit and the Egypt exhibit. We ended our visit to the museum at their favorite place. The carousel and ice cream shop/tree house/play house. But, how many pictures can I take of that part?

Eggs!

Apparently Charlotte didn't get the memo that her friends were dressing up.

Our church had a very fun brunch and Easter Egg hunt this morning. The rain held off until the afternoon, which was perfect! The kids always have a great time hunting for eggs!

Here is a picture of most of the people that were there, with a few exceptions :-)

The Bridge

When we moved to Michigan, many people would talk about "the bridge" that connects lower Michigan to the "U.P." The bridge to what? The Upper Peninsula, they would say. Apparently that was skipped in Geography class. Anyway, I've been wanting to drive there just to see this bridge and say that I've been to the "U.P." We took a quick overnight trip there and stayed in Mackinac City, which is pretty much a ghost town until May when all the shops and recreation opens up. Oh, you've heard of Mackinac Island right? The only way to get there is by boat (duh, it's an island) and no cars allowed on it. We thought it was closed down until May, but apparently for a hefty price we could've taken a quick jaunt that way, but on the other side of the bridge in St. Ignace. But again, most places were closed and only a couple hotels open. So not really worth it.

The kids said this was the best vacation ever!! Why? We played, played, and played some more!!The one thing that was open was an indoor water park that we got into free through our hotel. The girls were a little nervous about going down the slides at first, as you can see.

Brooke got braver, and Charlotte did too, but would only go down this slide by herself.
Under all that water is Brooke.

More sliding at the park along the lake.

It was definitely a fun trip that the kids will always remember. It's all about the memories!
Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!
